Thank you for giving to show God’s love to the typhoon victims in the Philippines
President Barack Obama has signed the Philippines Charitable Giving Assistance Act into law, giving taxpayers an incentive to continue assisting survivors of Typhoon Haiyan by allowing donations made between March 26 and April 15 to be claimed on 2013 tax returns. The new law also allows taxpayers who have already filed their 2013 returns to make donations and file amended returns to take advantage of the deduction.
"While nations and individuals around the world sent their support and millions of dollars in aid following the tragedy, many communities in the Philippines are still struggling to recover," Senator Hirono, one of the sponsors of the Act, said in a statement. "Time is of the essence, and I commend the groups who are urgently working to spur another round of critical contributions."
With wind gusts up to 235 mph, Typhoon Haiyan left the central Philippines ravaged, killing thousands and leaving many more missing. Feed The Hungry has provided over four million meals and lifesaving relief aid to families in Tacloban, Leyte, and Cebu islands, some of the hardest hit areas.
Your urgent help is needed right now to continue providing critical supplies to the suffering families of the Philippines who have lost so much. Your gift today will help provide lifesaving rations to typhoon survivors who have been so terribly affected.
Thank you for giving now to show the love of God to those in need!
